There is new information regarding the deadly crash of a small plane at the Buffalo Municipal Airport late Sunday afternoon. The Buffalo Police Department has released the names of the two men aboard the aircraft.
Authorities say 39-year-old Mikael Rovala of Kalispell, Montana was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, while 40-year-old Aaron Johnson of Gillette, Wyoming was transported from the scene in critical condition. It’s unclear which of the men was piloting the plane.
You’ll remember that the Buffalo Police and Fire Department was dispatched to the airport on County Road 134 in Buffalo shortly after 4 PM Sunday.
The FAA has previously stated that a replica Piper aircraft crashed while apparently attempting to depart the airport. The plane appeared to have at least partially overturned on the runway.
The FAA along with the NTSB are heading up the on-going investigation.
