State Track and Field Top Results for Wright County Area Athletes.
Buffalo: Tristan Lenton, first in 1600, Rose Lamberts, 1st in 300-meter hurdles, and Girls 4 x 400 finished 7th.


What a day for Rose Lamberts, above left and Tristan Lenton, right as they both took home first place at the 2026 State Track and field meet last weekend at STMA.
STMA: Emma Kvant, first in 400, second in 200, and third in 100. McKenzie Myran, 3rd in 1600, and Wyatt Mosher, 7th in 100. Boys 4 x 400 finished 4th (Dehmer, Dornsbach, Beltran Gonzalez and Mosher.)

Not only did Emma Kvant, above, win the 400 on her home track at STMA last weekend, but she also took home the 2026 Ms. Track and Field Award, which goes to the top Track and Field athlete in the state of Minnesota.
Monticello: Gus Staryszak, second in 100, third in 200, and ninth in discus. Isabella Mahoney, 9th in 1600, Kade Lovell, 9th in 400, and Boys 4 x 400, 2nd (Sterwich, Pena, Fason and Lovell.) Siena Zepeda finished 4th in the triple jump.

Rockford: Boys 4 x 200 finished second, (Morgan, Bemah, Ladman, and Robran.), Cora Larson, 5th in 400, Boys 4 x 400, first, (Ladman, Bemah, Janus, and Robran.), Kaden Terrell, 9th in discus, and McKenna Evans, 12th in shot put.
Annandale: 4 x 800 girls, 5th (Holmes, Lee, Palocios and Paquin.), Emery Wirth, 15th in 1600, and Jacie Lee, 8th in Shot put.
Dassel-Cokato: Ryan Asplin, 5th in 110-meter hurdles, 7th in 300-meter hurdles, Charlie Bortnem, 8th in 1600, and Addie Anderson, 8th in Pole Vault.
Delano: Girls 4 x 100, 4th (Olberding, Lamecker, Bright and Clare.), Girls 4 x 800, 4th (Ristau, Schultz, Wittnebel, and Kopperud.), Evelyn Olberding, 6th in 100-meter hurdles, Anna Lamecker, 5th in 100, and Mya Werner, 6th in 1600.
HLWW: Timmy Webber, 1st in Long Jump.

#2 Buffalo 11, #7 Lakeville South 9. Adelita Nelson scored five goals, and Rory Meyer made an amazing save late to preserve the Bison win over the Cougars on Tuesday afternoon at White Bear Lake, advancing the Bison to the semifinals.

#4 STMA 3, #5 Spring Lake Park 0. For the second time this season the Knights swept the Panthers, but this time it was even a bigger win as STMA advanced to the state semifinals, where they will face #1 Eastview at St. Thomas at 5:30 on Wednesday night. #1 Farmington 18, #8 STMA 6. The Tigers were just too physical and had too many weapons on offense for STMA, as Farmington advanced to the semifinals with a convincing win over the Knights, who were making their first state tournament appearance at Roseville on Wednesday night.

#1 Eastview 3, #4 STMA 0. The Lightning remained undefeated with a 25-17, 25-18, and 25-17 sweep over STMA on Wednesday at St. Thomas, advancing Eastview to the state championship. Tanner Carel had six kills for the Knights in the loss, who will now play for third place.

State Semifinals.
#2 Buffalo 11, #3 Stillwater 10. It was close throughout, as expected, as both goalies were outstanding, making big save after big save. Rory Meyer from Buffalo and Jackylyn Richert from Stillwater were putting on a show in the nets and it was tied at ten with just 1:06 remaining when Danecka Eng scored on a wrister and Buffalo held on to advance to the state championship for the first time in school history with a win over the Ponies at White Bear Lake on Thursday afternoon. Adelita Nelson and Lyla Pool each scored three goals for the Bison. Up next the Bison will face Minnetonka for a state championship on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM at White Bear Lake. #4 Rosemount 11, #5 Monticello 2. The Irish scored three in the first and four in the third and glided past the Magic on Thursday night at CHS Field, advancing to the state semifinal.

#5 St. Thomas Academy 7, #4 Delano 3. The Cadets jumped out to a 6-1 lead and held on to defeat the Tigers on Thursday night at Chaska to advance to the state semifinals.

#4 STMA 3, #3 Wayzata 0. The Knights took home third place at state with a sweep of the Trojans on Thursday at St. Thomas by scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-22. Drew Demarais (16 kills) and Trey Cornillez (10) led the Knights at the nets, while Nick Michals had 33 assists from the back row for STMA.

Class AAAA State Consolation.
Monticello defeated Prior Lake, 3-2 to advance to the Consolation championship game on Friday, but it was Andover that took home the consolation championship with a 10-6 win.

Rocori 4, Delano 1. The Tigers season came to an end with a loss to Rocori in the state consolation semifinals on Friday at Jordan.
Saturday, June 13th.
Girls Lacrosse.
State Championship.
#1 Minnetonka 14, #2 Buffalo 10. The Bison gave it all they had in the state championship game on Saturday at White Bear Lake but came up short against the #1 seeded Skippers. The Bison were playing without two of their top players in Lyla Pool and Hannah Rosso due to injuries, but kept it close early, only trailing 4-3 after one. In the second quarter the Skippers outscored the Bison, 4-1 and never looked back. Lilly Palm scored five goals for the Skippers, while Cali Weiche netted three goals for the Bison.
