Boys Hockey:

Section 8AA Quarterfinals: #8 Brainerd 5, #9 STMA 2. Braeden Waller scored the opening goal for the Knights, but it was all Brainerd after that.

Delano 2, Northfield 1. Brody Geislinger netted the game winner at 5:07 into overtime to lift the Tigers over Northfield on Saturday.

Eden Prairie 7, Buffalo 1.

Boys Hockey.

Section 8AA Quarterfinals: #6 Buffalo 2, #3 Sartell 0. The Bison got two goals from Evan Hinnenkamp, including an empty netter with 20 seconds left to clinch the upset victory for the Bison. Max Varner stopped all twenty one shots he faced in the net for the Bison. With the Bison upset combined with St. Cloud upsetting Roseau on Tuesday, the Bison will host St. Cloud on Saturday night at 7 PM at the Buffalo Civic Center.

Section 5A Quarterfinals: Monticello 2, Sauk Rapids Rice 0. Owen Soderholm stopped all thirty shots he faced as the Moose advanced to the semifinals.

Girls Basketball.

Hopkins 80, STMA 78. In the first round of the rematch between the two teams that met in the state championship game last year in AAAA, the Hopkins Royals won, but Ja’Kahla Craft missed the game with a broken finger. This time Craft played and the Seton Hall recruit scored 26 points, but again Hopkins came out on top. Florida recruit Liv McGill scored 34 to lead Hopkins to the win.

Delano 67, Jordan 46. The Tigers pulled away in the second half, lead by Taylor Tool’s 25 points.

Annandale 63, Rockford 36. Avery Gagnon(19 points.), and Emerson Helget(12 points.), lead the Cards to a home win over Rockford on Tuesday night.

Eden Prairie 67, Buffalo 30. The Bison behind Hayley Rohlin’s 11 points, only trailed the Eagles by 10 at the half, but it was all EP in the second half.

Glencoe SL 74, Howard Lake WW 18.

Dassel-Cokato 37, Litchfield 29.

Boys Basketball.

Hopkins 111, STMA 109, in 3 OT. In what might be the game of the year in the state, the Royals outlasted the Knights in triple overtime as JJ Semenko netted 34 in the Royals win. For STMA, Jordan Holm(30 points.), Hudson Hochstedler(26), and Jeremiah Johnson(22), combined for 78 points in the game for STMA.

Jordan Holm, above, rises for a shot against Edina earlier this season. On Tuesday night, Holm scored 30 points for the Knights in a thrilling ot game against #2AAAA Hopkins.

Glencoe SL 80, Howard Lake WW 74. Behind 29 points from Mason Mochinski, the Lakers hung tough with GSL, but the Panthers outlasted them for the win on Tuesday.

Eden Prairie 87, Buffalo 80. Four players scored in double figures, lead by Brody Wishart, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles held on for the home win.

Delano 85, Jordan 49. Will Strandemo scored 27 points in the Tigers win.

Dassel-Cokato 79, Litchfield 75 in OT.

Annandale 64, Rockford 33. Gabe Westman came off the bench with 15 points in the Cards win over the Rockets.

Monticello 78, North Branch 48. Carson Deibele had 19 points in the Magic win.

Boys Hockey.

Section 2A Quarterfinals: #2 Delano 5, #7 Hutch 2. Joseph McCabe scored two goals as Delano advanced to the semifinals with a win over Hutch.

Girls Basketball.

Buffalo 48, Rogers 45. The Bison snapped a 21 game losing streak with a road win at Rogers on Wed. night.

On Tuesday night, the Bison in white ended their 21 game losing streak with a big road win over Rogers.

Thursday, Feb. 22nd.

Girls Basketball.

Becker 62, Monticello 59. In a massive game for Seeding in Section 5AAA, the Bulldogs pretty much wrapped up the #1 seed over Monticello with their second win over the Magic on Thursday night. Alexis Rose lead the Bulldogs with 26 points. For Monticello Parker Haffeman scored 26 points, while Samantha Voll and Abby Ruda scored 15.

Royalton 74, Annandale 50.

New London Spicer 71, Rockford 37. Mae Weiss was the top scorer for Rockford with 9 points.
