Officials with the Wright County Fair are advising residents and fair-goers of a number of possible scams associated with various portions of the fair.
Organizers say there has been an increase in scammers falsely claiming to represent the Wright County Fair by advertising vendor opportunities, selling tickets, posting fake links, and more.
Officials stress that the public should be cautious of comments, messages, or third-party websites claiming to sell Wright County Fair tickets or offer fair-related services. If you purchase tickets from a re-seller or an unauthorized website, you may pay significantly more than face value – or even worse, you could get scammed with invalid or counterfeit tickets. Tickets purchased from unauthorized sellers or third-party websites are not eligible for replacement and cannot be refunded by the Wright County Fair.
The fair reminds everyone that the only official place to purchase tickets or apparel, to apply as a vendor, register for events, and to access all Wright County Fair information is through the official website at; www.wrightcountyfair.org.
