The local unemployment rate dropped again in May.
The latest numbers from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show that Wright County’s non-seasonally adjusted jobless rate in May was 3.8 percent, down from 4.1 percent in April, but slightly higher than the 3.1 percent rate in May of last year.
Wright County’s labor force in May remained at more than 86 thousand workers with just under 33-hundred people claiming unemployment benefits.
Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was down a tenth of a point at 4.4 percent, while the seasonally adjusted U-S jobless rate in May was 4.3 percent, unchanged from April.
New jobless numbers for June are expected to be released in the next week to 10 days.
