E-15 is getting a good deal of attention at this week’s FarmFest.
A provision that would allow for year-round sales of the ethanol blended fuel is a part of a new Farm Bill being discussed by the U-S Senate in Washington…
“For Minnesota it would be really significant as permanent year-round E-15 would give our 556 fuel retailers that currently offer E-15 more certainty by removing confusing outdated seasonal restrictions that limit access during the months families are driving the most.”
Brian Werner, Executive Director of Minnesota Biofuels says year-round E-15 would mean a big boost for the state’s farm economy…
“It supports Minnesota farmers by creating additional demand for corn grown locally here in Minnesota. It supports jobs and rural economies where ethanol producers and retailers are located. It helps keep more of our energy dollars here in the Midwest than sending them oversees and it gives consumers access to a cleaner burning option that is consistently priced lower than traditional gasoline.”
The U-S House has already passed its version of Farm Bill legislation. The current extension of the 2018 Farm Bill expires at the end of September.
