Girls Hockey.
Section 5AA Quarterfinals.
#5 North Wright County 3, #4 Roseville 2. The River Hawks advanced to the Section finals on a goal by Stevie Mae Lawrence midway through the third period. It was only the second goal of the season for Lawrence, but it was a big one. With the win NWC will take on Centennial Tuesday night, on AM1360 KRWC at 5 PM.

Section 5A.
Orono 7, Delano 1. Kaeylyn Whittwer tied the game in the second period for the Tigers, but the Spartans scored the next six goals and eliminated Delano from the playoffs.
Boys Hockey.
Minnetonka 3, STMA 0. Ian Schultz scored two of the three goals the Skippers scored in the first period and that would be all they needed to defeat STMA on Saturday. Ethan Johnson came off the bench to stop 31 of 32 shots for the Knights.
Eden Prairie 7, Buffalo 2. Seven different players scored for the Eagles in the win. Sawyer Sawdey, and Brandon Rodenwald scored for the Bison.
Wrestling Notes:
Jasmine Downer(1st) and Roseangel Verrett(2nd) advanced to state in girls wrestling from Monticello, while Courtney Kodish from Buffalo in her first-year wrestling, just missed out by finishing 4th.

Minnetonka 67, Buffalo 51. Isa El Amin scored 26 in the Skippers win, while Mitch Friesz was the only Bison player in double figures with 13 points.

Girls Basketball.
Eden Prairie 87, STMA 59. Cail Jahnke and Abby Hoselton led the Knights in scoring with 19, and 17 points respectively in the STMA loss.
Elk River 60, Buffalo 44. Brianna Eggers (24 points) and Alayna Feekes (15) scored 39 of the 44 Bison points, as only four players scored overall in the loss to Elk River.

Section 5AA Semifinals.
#1 Centennial 6, #5 North Wright County 1. The Cougars advanced to the section finals with a convincing win over NWC. The closest the River Hawks would get, was a goal by Lucy Felling at the end of the first period, cutting the lead to 3-1.
Boys Hockey.
STMA 6, Buffalo 0. James Anderson and Tanner Easterberg each scored two goals and added an assist in the Knights shutout.
Delano 7, Mound 2. Marcus Kangas scored the go-ahead goal at the beginning of the third period for Delano, and the Tigers added four more in the third to race past Mound on Tuesday.

Buffalo 67, Osseo 43. Four players scored in double figures for the Bison, led by Brianna Eggers 26 points, as the Bison rolled on Senior night.

Delano 70, Southwest Christian 60. The Tigers rallied from an eleven-point halftime deficit to defeat SWC on Tuesday night. Cassie Wegman led the Tigers in scoring with 21.
Monticello 88, Big Lake 23. The Magic tied a school record for most points scored in a game with a blowout win over the Hornets.

Delano also competed in their sections and won their first match over Mound, 46-25 but lost in the second round to #1 seed Watertown-Mayer, 57-15.

Annandale 57, Litchfield 36. Gabe Westman scored 20 points as the Cards won their sixth straight on Thursday night.
Buffalo 68, Southwest Christian 48. Jordy Sorenson led the Bison with 16 points.
STMA 88, Edina 73. Jeremiah Johnson netted 31 points in the Knights win.

Monticello 3, Alexandria 2. Carter Lemke got the Moose off to a hot start with a goal in the first period, one of three for the Moose in the first. The Cards scored the next two goals and came close to a tying goal late, but Monticello held on for the win.

St. Francis 75, Monticello 73. Connor Peterson (30 points) led St. Francis over the Magic on Friday night. Jackson Soroko (20 points) was the top scorer for the Magic.

Mora 72, Annandale 48. In a physical affair the Mustangs pulled away from the Cards, ending Annandale’s six game winning streak.
Gymnastics.
Delano’s Cora Hinkle was impressive with a 1st All-Around finish at last night’s section meet and qualifying for the state tournament! As a team, the Tigers finished second with a score of 132.25

Monticello is headed to state in Class A as the section champs with a score of 144.57. It’s the top score in school history! Lauren Hanson, Keatyn Nowacki, and Alana Beckland finished 1,3, and 5 in the all-around. Hanson, Nowacki, Beckland and Zepeda advanced to state individually.
