Girls Softball.
Section 3AA.
Jackson County Central took a close 3-2 win over Dassel-Cokato in the quarterfinals in Marshall, but the Chargers stayed alive with a 9-0 win over Redwood Valley.
Tuesday, May 27th.
Girls Softball.
Section 8AAA Winners Bracket Final.
#3 Brainerd 4, #1 STMA 3. The Warriors scored three runs in the top of the seventh to comeback from a 2-1 deficit, then held of the Knights in the 7th. Becca Odlund gave the Knights a 2-1 lead in the 5th with a leadoff line drive home run to left center field, and that lead held up until the seventh. The Knights cut the lead to 4-3 in the seventh, but a fly out ended the game with the tying run at third.
Section 5AA.
Winners Bracket Final.
#2 Spectrum 2, #1 Rockford 0. Addison Wallschlaeger tossed a shutout as the second seeded Sting advanced to the section finals. The Rockets stayed alive with a 9-0 shutout win against Southwest Christian in their second game of the day.

Section 5AAA.
Winners Bracket Final.
#3 Becker 7, #1 Delano 2. The Bulldogs upset the Tigers in the first game of the day, and then just like that the #1 seeded Tigers were sent home for the season with a 4-2 loss to St. Francis in the next game. Delano came into the day, the #2AAA team in the state.
Baseball.
Section 6AAA. Quarterfinals.
#1 Delano 13, #8 Camden 0. The Tigers breezed past Camden at home to advance to the Section semifinals, where they will take on Mound at home on Thursday.

Section 5AAA Quarterfinals.
#2 Monticello 9, #7 Zimmerman 0. Carson Deibele struck out seven for the Magic in the win, and Brock Holthaus hit a double and a triple while driving in a run for Monticello.
Section 6AAAA Quarterfinals.
#6 Armstrong 3, #3 Buffalo 0. Caleb Johnson was dominant through six for the Bison as the game was scoreless going into the seventh. In the top of the seventh the Falcons hit back-to-back doubles opening the floodgates for a three-run inning. The Bison were held to three hits in the loss.
Section 5AA Quarterfinals.
#2 Rockford 11, #10 Norwood YA 1. The Raiders handed the defending state champs from Rockford their first defeat of the season earlier this year, but the Rockets were not going to allow it a second time. A six run third broke open the game for Rockford. Max Edwards was the top hitter for Rockford, going 3-4 with a double and three RBIs.
#1 Providence 7, #9 Dassel-Cokato 6. Despite the loss the Chargers are still alive in the bracket but move into the elimination bracket.
6AA First Round.
#6 Wadena-Deer Creek 3, #11 Annandale 2. The Cards led 2-0 going into the bottom of the sixth due to eleven strikeouts from Christian Garner, but WDC tied the game in the bottom of the sixth and won it on an error in the bottom of the ninth ending the Cards season.
Track and Field Sections.
Monticello is sending four athletes to state after the Section 5AA meet at Monticello on Tuesday. On the boys side it will be Alvin Bropleh, and Gus Staryszak. The girls that qualified were Lauren Hanson, and Isabel Mahoney.

Softball.
Section 3AA Elimination Bracket.
Dassel-Cokato split on the day, defeating Windom, 1-0, but saw their season come to an end with an identical 1-0 loss to Morris. DC went to state last year but came up just one game short from getting back to the Section finals.
Baseball.
Section 6AAA Elimination Bracket.
#3 Buffalo 7, #7 Minneapolis Washburn 2. Aiden Marconett struck out thirteen as the Bison stayed alive in the Sections.
Girls Golf.
Monticello advanced to the second day of the 5AA Section golf meet, shooting a round of 360, which tied Anoka for third. Elk River (320) and STMA (327) go into the final day with the top two spots.
Buffalo did not advance onto the second day as it finished 8th as a team in the Section 8AA tournament at Headwaters in Alexandria. Two Bison golfers did advance to the second day on the girl’s side, as both Hayley Rohlin (89) and Aly Bormes (90) qualified in Alex.
Thursday, May 29th.
Softball.
Section 5AA Finals.
#2 Spectrum 6, #1 Rockford 2. The Spectrum Sting outscored their opponents an astonishing 180-0 on the season going into Thursday’s game at Annandale against Rockford. With Spectrum up 4-0 in the sixth, Kaycie Roggenkamp hit a two run double and just like that the Rockets were the first team to score on Spectrum all year and were right back in the game. Unfortunately for the Rockets, the Sting added two more in the bottom of the sixth and then held on for the 6-2 win and advanced to state for the first time in school history. Sofia Westgard had two doubles in the game for Rockford, who ended their season with a 21-3 record.

Section 8AAAA Elimination Round.
#2 Sartell 4, #1 STMA 3. The Knights needed just one more out to advance to the section finals, up 3-1 in the seventh, but never got it, as the Sabers rallied to the 4-3 win, ending the Knights season in devastating fashion.
Baseball.
Section 6AAA.
Winner Bracket Semifinals.
#1 Delano 12, #4 Mound 2. The Tigers advanced to the winners bracket final, by outscoring their first two opponents in Camden and Mound by a combined 25-2 score.

#2 Monticello 6, #6 Becker 0. Gavin Gardner pitched a three-hit shutout as the Magic took control of the bracket as #1 Totino-Grace was upset on the other side as the #1 seed.
Section 8AAAA.
Winners Bracket Semifinals.
#1 STMA 3, #4 Elk River 2. Tate Tolifson drove in the game winning run and Riley Wuebkers only gave up two hits in the complete game win as the Knights advanced to the winners bracket final.
Section 5AA.
Winners Bracket Semifinals.
#3 Glencoe SL 3, #2 Rockford 1. The Panthers scored two in the sixth to take the lead and held on for the win, dropping the defending state champs from Rockford to the elimination bracket.
Elimination Bracket.
#9 Dassel-Cokato 7, #5 Southwest Christian 4. The Chargers kept their Cinderella story alive with another upset win. Next up for the Chargers are the defending state champs from Rockford in an elimination game on Saturday.
Girls Lacrosse.
Section 8A Quarterfinals.
#1 Buffalo 20, #8 Becker 4. Hattie Toussaint and Adellita Nelson both netted four goals in the Bison romp.

Section 2A Quarterfinals.
#3 Buffalo 12, #6 Delano 7. Blake Beckman from Buffalo and Issac Miller from Delano both scored hat tricks in the Bison win on Thursday.
8A Quarterfinals.
#3 STMA 11, #6 Providence 1.
#2 Monticello 13, #10 Becker 5.
Boys Volleyball.
Section 8A.
#2 STMA 3, #7 Elk River 1. The Knights dropped the first set, 25-20, but then won the next three convincingly, 25-18, 25-10 and 25-15 to advance to the Section semifinals.
Section 2A.
#4 Prior Lake 3, #5 Orono/Mound/Delano 0.
Track and field.
The Monticello girls 4×200 relay team (Lauren Hanson, Kacie Lilledahl, Miah Palacios, and Kaela Skistad), and 4×800 relay team (Whitney Sala, Meah Morris, Lauren Rengel, and Kylie Lindberg) both advanced to state in Section 5AA, as did Gus Staryszak in the 100.

Golf.
The Monticello Magic boys golf team qualified two for state in Carter Lemke, and Brody McGriff on the boy’s side as both shot a 146, and Alayna Opatz on the girl’s side who shot a 160.

In Section 8AAA, the Buffalo Bison finished fourth in the Section with a round of 607, with Alexandria finishing first with a 577. Harvey Ylitalo from Buffalo qualified for state by finishing third with a 145.
