Wright County’s unemployment rate for the month of August was up slightly from the previous month.
New statistics from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show that Wright County’s non-seasonally adjusted jobless rate in August was 3.9 percent, up a tenth of a point from the 3.8 percent rate in July, and up two-tenths from July of 2025. The new 3.9 percent rate is also up seven-tenths of a point from August of 2024.
Wright County’s labor force in August was measured at 85 thousand 865 available workers, down slightly from the previous month, but was still just a few hundred workers lower than the all-time high available labor force number of nearly 86 thousand 200 in June of this year.
Minnesota’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in August was 3.6 percent, up a tenth of a point from July, while the seasonally-adjusted U-S unemployment rate was 4.3 percent, up a tenth of a point from July, and also up a tenth of a point from July of 2024.
Both the Minnesota and U-S unemployment rates have fluctuated just a few tenths of a point over the first eight months of this year, while Wright County’s jobless rate is up six-tenths of a point since January.
