Wright County Unemployment Down Dramatically in April

Wright County’s unemployment rate took a noticeable drop in the month of April.

The latest statistics from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show that Wright County’s non-seasonally adjusted jobless rate in April was 4.1 percent, down from 5.3 percent in the month of March. While the drop in unemployment for Wright County was significant, the jobless rate is still running above the 3.4 percent rate in April last year, and the 2.8 percent rate in April of both 2024 and 2023. It should also be noted that Wright County’s unemployment last April was lower than this year despite a labor force of approximately 800 more available workers.

Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment in April was 4.5 percent, unchanged from March, but up from the 3.6 percent rate of April 2025.

The U-S seasonally adjusted jobless rate in April was 4.3 percent, unchanged from March, and up just a tenth of a percent from the 4.2 percent rate last April.
