A number of communities across Minnesota are getting some extra funding to help with water and wastewater projects.
Minnesota Public Facilities Authority Executive Director Jeff Freeman says 27 projects in total will get funding…
“It’s really essential to kind of the economic fatality of a community, as well as protecting public health and the environment. Basically every city owns and operates these infrastructure systems.”
Freeman says funding will go to a wide-ranging array of projects…
“All sorts of infrastructure components, treatment plants, lots of replacement of aging, water mains and sewer lines, water towers, wells, pump stations.”
Locally, the City of Annandale will be receiving nearly $648 thousand dollars to make repairs on a 300 thousand gallon water tower. The City of St. Cloud is also among Minnesota communities that will recieve funds for water infrastructure repairs.
Overall, more than $265 million in state loans and grants are being awarded.
