Health officials urge Minnesotans to keep any eye on their neighbors during the extreme heat this week.
Minnesota Department of Health Dr. Nick Lehnertz says groups at either end of the age spectrum can be affected the most by prolonged heat waves…
“Individuals of advanced age and also the very young, those individuals maybe under the age of five or so, individuals with certain medical conditions such as heart disease or diabetes or maybe they’re struggling with weight issues, those people are also have difficulty maintaining sort of like in regulating their body temperature.”
Dr. Lehnertz says no matter your age, stay hydrated, and duck into some AC from time to time if possible, and try to regulate strenuous activity outdoors.
