The American Dental Association is promoting the benefits of good oral healthcare during National Children’s Dental Health Month in February.
Patty Malacek with Wright County Public Health says good dental care should start early and should continue throughout childhood…
“Everyday should be about children’s dental health. Habits learned in childhood, can carry forward to adults. Children can be taught healthy behaviors like brushing with a fluoride toothpaste. We recommend twice a day for two minutes. Flossing, eating healthier foods, limiting sugar, especially those that come in beverages, going to the dentist at least twice a year, and all of these good habits can prevent dental disease. And adults should be doing the same thing, too.”
