This year’s soybean and corn crops are starting to emerge in most areas of Wright County.
Taylor Herbert, Crop Specialist with the University of Minnesota Extension Service in Wright County says that although the weather has been a little dry, soil temps have been warming up nicely…
“Many folks I talked to wrapped up planting around Mother’s Day weekend, and conditions were really fairly ideal. The past week or so with the soil temperatures in the high 50s, low 60s, kind of in that perfect range. Now driving around, seeing lots of emergence both with corn and soybeans. I know the small grains have been up for quite awhile.”
Warm temperatures this week, possibly paired with some occasional rains could produce a noticeable jump in crop growth.
