Unemployment in Wright County inched up above 4 percent in February.
New statistics from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show that the non-seasonally adjusted jobless rate in Wright County in February was 4.1 percent, up from 3.7 percent in January and up a tenth of a point from the 4 percent unemployment rate from the same period a year ago. The new February rate is also only the second time the local jobless numbers have been at or above 4 percent since March of 2021, when local unemployment was at 4.6 percent.
The Minnesota seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in February was 2.7 percent for the fourth straight month, while the seasonally adjusted U-S unemployment rate was 3.9 percent, up two tenths of a point from January, and the first rise in the national jobless rate since last October.
