National Police Week Observed Through May 15th

Wright County, along with the rest of the country is observing National Police Week this week through May 15th.

President John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726 in 1962 designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week.

Peace officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the course of their duties are honored, and flags are lowered to half-staff to honor fallen law enforcement officers.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is taking the opportunity this week to thank all of its current and previous officers and deputies, as well as the officers in the Buffalo, Howard Lake and Annandale Police Departments for their service.
