Regina Hughes, Wright County Employee, Victim of Apparent Murder-Suicide Remembered Today (Friday)

A Rockford woman who was recently the victim of an apparent murder-suicide will be remembered this evening at a public visitation.

46-year-old Regina (McClintock) Hughes was found dead at her home in Rockford on March 19th.

You may remember that Wright County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to her home in Rockford when neighbors noticed that a pickup truck had been running for a lengthy period of time outside the home. Authorities found Ms. Hughes, and a 47-year-old man identified as Christopher Powers deceased in the home from apparent gunshot wounds.

Officials believe Powers shot and killed Hughes, then turned the gun on himself.

Regina Hughes was a respected employee of Wright County, where she worked as a Records Management Analyst. She had previously worked for six years as the Nursing Support Coordinator at the Allina Buffalo Hospital, and in earlier years had worked as a CNA with Northridge Care Facilities. She also worked as a Certified Massage Therapist.

A visitation for Regina Hughes is scheduled for this evening (Friday) from 4 to 8 PM at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

A private family funeral service is planned.
