Wright County Area Scores for the Week of 4/20 – 4/27

Saturday, April 20th

Girls Lacrosse:

Buffalo 14, Big Lake 1. Evita Weiche scored four goals and added two assist, while Bailey Michske added three goals and three assist as the Bison rolled over the Hornets on Saturday.

Boys Lacrosse:

Buffalo 11, Mound 6. Charles Jerde netted five goals, and Owen Lange added two goals and four assist in the Bison win on Saturday.

STMA 21, Providence 6. Rene Lobitz scored nine goals and added two assist for an incredible eleven points on Saturday in the Knights win.

Softball:

Monticello Invite

Rogers 10, Monticello 5. Allison Bielke went 2-4 with two RBI’s in the opening game loss.

Monticello 9, Spring Lake Park 0. Josie Ordorff had a monster game, pitching a complete shutout in the circle and went 3-3 at the plate with two doubles and two RBI’s. Sydney Fuller also had a big game going 2-4 at the plate with two doubles and two RBI’s.

Moorhead 4, Monticello 1. The Spuds defeated the Magic in the final game of the Monti tournament, as the Magic finished 1-2 on the day.

Mankato Tournament

The Rockford Rockets went 2-1 at the Mankato Tournament at Caswell Park on Saturday. Edina won game one against the Rockets 7-3, but Rockford won the next two, 12-10 over Mankato West and 10-7 over St. Peter.

Adapted Bowling, PI Division:

Monticello Invite

The Magic swept the top three as they won their invite. Brianna Parks was first with a score of 444, Addison Lees was second with a score of 412, and Maddy DeVowe finished third with a 406, as Monticello swept the top three spots in the PI division of the Monti Invite.

Boys Tennis

Monticello 5, Foley 2. Ryan Schyma and TT Sundine won in singles, and all three doubles teams won as the Magic defeated the Falcons on Saturday.

Monday, April 22nd.

Boys Lacrosse.

Buffalo 13, Hopkins 12. Parker Youngquist scored two minutes into overtime to lift the Bison to a thrilling win over Hopkins on Monday night. Jack Vanderkool lead the Bison with four goals and three assist.

The Bison Boys Lacrosse team, above in Black, won a thriller over Hopkins in OT on Monday night.

Delano 12, Hutch 8.

Girls Lacrosse.

STMA 9, Monticello 6. Piper Peterson netted three goals, and Kat Rice stopped 14 of 20 shots in the Knights win. Addison Kiphuth lead the Magic with a goal and two assist.

Delano 12, Hutch 9.

Softball.

STMA 4, Eden Prairie 0. Kendra Behrens pitched a complete game two hit shutout for the Knights.

Kendra Behrens, above, had a breakout year as a Sophomore last season for STMA, and she has continued to excel this season for STMA, including a shutout victory over Eden Prairie on Monday.

 

Annandale 7, New London Spicer 2. Molly Marquette pitched a complete game in the Cards win.

Edina 7, Buffalo 0.

Howard Lake WW 4, Dassel-Cokato 2. The Lakers picked up their first win in eleven innings over DC on Monday afternoon.

Glencoe Silver Lake 4, Rockford 2.

Baseball.

Buffalo 2, Maple Grove 1. The Bison picked up their first win behind starting pitcher Cole Lindberg, who went 6.1 innings and picked up the victory for Buffalo.

STMA 3, Sartell 1. CJ Splettstoesser continued to rake, going 3-4 with a double in the Knights win.

Rockford 16, Glencoe SL 2.

New London Spicer 6, Annandale 3.

Big Lake 4, Maple Lake 2. The Hornets won a tight one over the Irish on Monday afternoon on a game heard right here on AM1360 KRWC.

Delano 10, Zimmerman 0.

Tuesday, April 23rd.

Track and Field. (Monti Invite.)

Sasha Steinbach ran the fastest 100 in the state with a time of 11.91 for the girls, while on the boys side Luke Emmerich set a school record in the 100 with a time of 10.69 as both the Magic boys and girls took first place at the Monti invite.

Baseball.

Monticello 11, St. Francis 1. In a rematch of last year’s section finals, it was all Monticello as they roared past the Saints. Caden King went 2-4 with a double and three RBI’s. Tim Marcus picked up the complete game victory.

Annandale 10, Big Lake 2.

Norwood YA 9, Howard Lake WW 0.

Monticello 10, Big Lake 2. Lauren Moorhouse netted two goals in the Magic win over their neighbors from Big Lake on Wed.

Thursday, April 25th.

Boys Golf.

Tommy Disch and Brady McGriff from Monticello went one and two at the Ponds as Monticello took home the invite. Disch shot a 72, while McGriff shot a 75.

Baseball.

Rockford sweeps Annandale 13-0 and 10-0. Aiden Smith pitched a complete game shutout in the first game of the doubleheader and the Rockets went on to sweep the Cards in Annandale on Thursday.

Monticello 7, North Branch 2. Caden King continued is hot week, going 3-3 with a double and two RBI’s in the Magic win.

Howard Lake WW and Litch split. The Lakers won the first game 8-1, while the Dragons won the second game, 7-5.

GSL Sweeps: Glencoe Silver Lake took two from DC yesterday, 13-3 and 7-2.

STMA 12, Hopkins 2. Taylan Siens had a perfect day at the plate, going 2-2 with a triple and two RBI’s.

Minnetonka 11, Buffalo 1.

Softball.

Rockford sweeps Annandale. The Rockets outscored the Cards 27-0 in the two game sweep, winning 17-10 and 10-0.

DC sweeps Glencoe SL, 9-0, and 5-4.

Lakers and Dragons split. Lakers won the first game 6-5, while Litch took the second game, 9-5.

STMA 18, Buffalo 2. Taylor Tschida went 4-4 with a home run and four RBI’s in the Knights win. The Knights collected 26 hits on the day.

Edina 9, STMA 5. Despite the loss, it was a big day at the plate for Drew Luster who went 3-4 with a triple a home run and two RBI’s for the Knights.

Buffalo 11, Champlin Park 3. Owen Lange had three goals and three assist in the Bison win.

Girls Lacrosse.

Armstrong 18, STMA 13. Danika Weiland netted five goals for the Knights , while Piper Peterson added four goals and an assist in the Knights loss.

Saturday, April 27th.

Girls Lacrosse.

Buffalo 11, Chaska 6. Hattie Toussaint lead the Bison with five goals and an assist, while Evita Weiche scored four goals and added two assist for the Bison.

Girls Softball.

Howard Lake WW loses two. The Lakers lost to Holy Family 11-1, and Osseo 9-8 in their tournament on Saturday.
